Erntedankfest ............Harvest festival....Thanksgiving

A harvest festival is an annual celebration which occurs around the time of the main harvest of a given region.

Harvest is mainly associated with fruit and vegetables, for which we give thanks. This is the whole point of the Harvest Festival.

The German Erntedankfest is primarily a rural and a religious celebration.
When it is celebrated in larger cities, it is usually part of a church service.

Wir wünschen allen eine ruhige und gemütliche Erntedankfest !

We wish you all a quiet and cozy Thanksgiving!

Yes, Vicki,

to have a happy heart is to have a grateful heart. We have so many things and people to be thankful for.

I am thankful for your friendship.

God bless!

this celebration is somewhat similar to Quezon Province "Pahiyas festival" - a thanksgiving for a bountiful harvest
